Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 6, 2026 · Last Updated: March 18, 2026
Hommie ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Hommie mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular consumer or device ("Personal Information").
Information you provide directly:
- Account details (name, email, phone, profile photo, password).
- Property searches, favorites, visited properties, notes, reviews, or feedback you submit.
- Messages or communications with agents, inspectors, or other users.
- Payment information (if you upgrade or pay for premium features — processed securely by third-party providers; we do not store full card details).
Information collected automatically:
- Device information (IP address, device ID, operating system version, mobile carrier).
- Usage data (pages viewed, search queries, time spent, interactions with listings and professionals).
- Location data (general area from IP address; precise location only if you enable it for map or search features).
- Analytics data (via tools like Google Analytics or Firebase to improve app performance).
From third parties: Professional data (agents, inspectors, etc.) from public APIs and sources, which may include names, brokerages, and contact information (this does not include your personal information).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App (e.g., show relevant property listings, professional searches, and map features).
- Facilitate connections (e.g., messaging professionals or viewing profiles).
- Personalize your experience (e.g., saved searches, recommendations).
- Communicate with you (app updates, support responses, optional marketing — you can opt out anytime).
- Analyze usage trends and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Comply with legal obligations or protect our rights and safety.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell your Personal Information. We may share it in these limited cases:
- With service providers (hosting, analytics, payment processors, cloud storage) who are contractually required to protect it.
- With professionals (agents, inspectors, etc.) when you choose to contact them through the App — only the information necessary to facilitate the connection.
- To comply with law, respond to legal requests (subpoena, court order), or protect rights, property, or safety.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (your information may be transferred as part of the transaction).
4. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location (including California residents under CCPA/CPRA and similar laws in other states), you may have rights such as:
- Right to know what Personal Information we collect, use, and share.
- Right to delete your Personal Information (subject to certain exceptions, such as transaction records).
- Right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of your information (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising).
- Right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
To exercise these rights, email us at support@hommie.app. We will respond within the time required by law (typically 45 days, extendable if needed). We may need to verify your identity for security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or 16 in some jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information (such as encryption and access controls). However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
8. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services (e.g., professional websites, maps). We are not responsible for their privacy practices — please review their policies separately.
9. International Users
The App is hosted in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., subject to U.S. law. We comply with applicable data protection laws.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted here with a revised "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review it periodically.
